A quote like that immediately lays things in the right perspective. Style is about you. It's never about what you wear, its not even about what you want to be, but how true you are to yourself. It is very personal and it is what makes you uniquely you. This is why it is safe to say that style is the biggest pursuit ever and will forever be. To know your style is to know yourself. It is an expression of yourself and what makes you different, your voice, your feelings, your creativity, how you choose to present yourself to the world. It is entirely your call. 

My style is a mixture of girly and tough. You'll find me pairing a floral printed jumpsuit with a denim jacket any day. Effortless, clashy, and fancy. It's me naturally expressing who I am perfectly. A blend of gentleness and strength, bound together by principles and standards I live by. My love for boyish things - distressed denims, leather, studs and sneakers is inevitable as that tells of me wanting to feel authoritative and in control of my life. I am headstrong when it comes to what I want, I make sure I get what I want. But as we speak, I strive as hard to be a girl; I love my girly things - my dresses, my blings, my laces and pearls. To be beautifully delicate and classy, as well as embrace my vulnerable and fussy girly tendencies. I understand if you're confused at this point.

Or it really could just be me experimenting. Because really, that's what life is all about. Experiments after experiments, failures and spectacular successes,  conflicts and harmony are  all that make life worth living when it's all been said and done. It speaks of what I ultimately want in life, too. To be happy, to live on the edge, to constantly push for new adventures and be lucky.

To be a style icon is to successfully be yourself with no compromise. May that always be our pursuit.
