Disney is without a doubt the magic to my childhood. I can't think of a time when Disney has failed to enchant me. There is nothing more magical and empowering than good triumphing evil in every Disney princess movie. As a child, and even now that I'm 24, that still captivates me the same way. No wonder Disney is my favorite. I was ecstatic when I heard that a fresh take of Cinderella was coming to the theaters. I finally caught it yesterday and absolutely 100% loved it!
Disney has an extraordinary way of bringing valuable life lessons in such a magical way. In the movie, Cinderella's mum shares with her on her deathbed a "Secret that will see you through all the trials life has to offer". And that is to Have Courage and Be Kind. The one rule that Cinderella lived by despite the cruelty of her stepmother and stepsisters. She never caved in.
A classic display that true beauty shines from the heart. There is magic and power in being unapologetically courageous and kind. Goodness and courage amidst grief, humiliation, injustice and suffering is strength. It is such a beautiful way of life that no one should ever fail to see. It covers all. Stay true to the values that make you who you are. They are your treasures that eclipses any beautiful dress or glass slipper.
Another quote from Cinderella to end, See the world not how it is, but how it could be. Freely give what you can never lose - Your courage and kindness. xx
